Module 3 –Leadership Workshops

The leadership workshops are designed to enhance your leadership capabilities and both workshops are held once each semester.

Enhancing your Leadership Skills, an Experiential Workshopextends and builds on the leadership component of the Personal Skills Development (PSD) module that was conducted at the beginning of the MBA program (Module 1).

It focuses on providing more comprehensive feedback on participants’ leadership and subordinate styles, as well as their preferred team roles, which were assessed during the PSD module. Participants in this workshop are required to bring with them their 15FQ Computer Aided Profile Report that was provided during PSD module.

The workshop will review current perspectives on leadership and explore strategies that participants can employ to improve their capabilities as leaders. A strong emphasis in the workshop will be placed on developing practical leadership skills and personal insight through engagement in experiential processes and via feedback and self-reflection.

Productive Thinking and Business Innovation.It is the quality of thinking that differentiates great companies from merely good ones and leaders from followers. Good companies often pay lip service to the innovation imperative – great companies and great leaders embrace it. By developing the productive thinking capacity of their people, great leaders generate more ideas, better ideas, and, ultimately, more success. This workshop is based on findings from work with a wide range of organisations which suggests that:

• Although many people talk about creativity and innovation. Few understand how to make it happen.
• How we think is more important than what we know, especially in this time of rapid change.
• The great organisations develop intellectual and creative capital by tapping into the wisdom of their people.

The Productive Thinking Model is a practical process designed to discover and explore new ideas, concepts and solutions and make them useful, profitable or beneficial. Productive thinking is the platform skill on which innovative cultures are built. It is a skill which can be learned and developed.

This one-day workshop has been designed to enhance your leadership skills and to:

• Provide you with immediate experience with powerful tools, techniques and processes to improve your personal and professional creative thinking, strategic thinking and problem-solving effectiveness.
• Demonstrate better ways to innovate, develop products and processes, market opportunities, save money and be more competitive.
• Introduce an innovation vocabulary and mindset to allow teams to collaborate more effectively, efficiently and productively as they work through a disciplined, repeatable innovation process.
