Career Management Service
The MBA Career Management Program is designed to provide students with a suite of tools and techniques enabling them to assess, plan and manage their career paths.
During their MBA studies students will have the opportunity to develop a career management plan that may be either a straight forward exercise or a more involved undertaking depending on their individual career aspirations.
The centrepiece of the Career Management Program is a series of workshops presented by Lee Hecht Harrison, global leaders in career management solutions. All incoming Monash MBA students participate in a personal skills development module prior to the commencement of their formal studies. In this module they participate in an introductory career management workshop and undertake psychometric and graduate skills assessments that are used in the career planning process.
An integral part of the MBA career planning process is for students to choose a combination of electives to tailor their MBA program to best suit their personal and professional aspirations with the assistance of an MBA academic advisor. Students may choose a diverse range of electives to broaden their educational experience or a professional track comprising a series of electives in a field of study such as accounting, finance, marketing and entrepreneurship depending on their needs.
Psychometric Assessment – a comprehensive report is provided along with extensive feedback that comprises: personality assessment, leadership and management preferences, subordinate style, career and work style themes and Myer-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) preferences.
Graduate Skills Assessment (GSA) - The GSA assesses each students capabilities concerning report writing, argument task, critical thinking, problem solving and interpersonal understanding.
